Getting my old computer up!

I'm on a friend's computer for a few minutes. I'm now moved and unpacked, but I can't get my old computer from Gateways up and running. I bought it back in 2001. It looks like I have to buy a new Windows 98 software package and a new mouse for the computer. Then, I might be able to get the dinosaur working again. I figure at least several more days to get the products ordered and delievered. Then, I'll cross my fingers and pray that everything works the way its supposed to. I have to tell you that being poor sucks! I definitely need a new computer once I have enough money to buy one.

I do have Hyenas by Joe R. Lansdale coming in this week as well as Devil Red. I'm looking forward to meeeting back up with the boys (Hap & Leonard) again, and I have a nice supply of Dr. Pepper and Vanilla wafers in stock for our get together. If you're never tried a "Hap/Leonard" novel, this is your opportunity to have some fun and excitement with East Texas crime noir by one hell-of-a-great fiction writer. It doesn't get much better than Joe Lansdale.

I'm presently finishing Vendetta: A Tina Monroe Mystery by Nancy Niles. This is the author's first novel and takes place here in Las Vegas. I'm really enjoying the book so far, and I intend to do a review of it once I have my own computer up and running.

Talk to you in another week or so.
