If you love hard-boiled crime novels, then prepared yourself for a magnum opus from author, Duane Swierczynski. This writer established himself as a top writer in the field of hard-boiled crime fiction with his first novel, The Wheelman. Now, Duane S. has three "Charlie Hardie" thrillers coming out within a nine-month period. The first is Fun & Games, which is due out on Amazon on June 20th. This is going to be a trade paperback that you can pick up for $9.59. Below is the synopsis from Amazon about Fun & Games.
"Charlie Hardie, an ex-cop still reeling from the revenge killing of his former partner's entire family, fears one thing above all else: that he'll suffer the same fate.
Languishing in self-imposed exile, Hardie has become a glorified house sitter. His latest gig comes replete with an illegally squatting B-movie actress who rants about hit men who specialize in making deaths look like accidents. Unfortunately, it's the real deal. Hardie finds himself squared off against a small army of the most lethal men in the world: The Accident People.
It's nothing personal-the girl just happens to be the next name on their list. For Hardie, though, it's intensely personal. He's not about to let more innocent people die. Not on his watch."
I've already placed my order for a copy of Fun & Games. Also, the second novel in the "Charlie Hardie" series, Hell & Gone, comes out on October 31st of 2011 in Trade Paperback, and the third novel, Point & Shoot, will follow in March of 2012 in Trade Paperback.
I don't know about you, but I'm excited by Fun & Games and can't wait to get my hands on it. It's been a couple of years since I sank my teeth into a great Duane Swierczynski novel.
