In the Electric Mist with Tommy Lee Jones

I've been a fan of James Lee Burke and the "Dave Robicheaux" novels since the early nineties. I also enjoyed the movie version of Heaven's Prisoner's with a young Alec Baldwin as Robicheaux. I think I was the only one who did. I finally got to watch In the Electric Mist, which was based on Burke's novel, In the Electric Mist With the Confederate Dead. Though I'm a big fan of Tommy Lee Jones, I wasn't sure I'd enjoy him in the Dave Robicheaux part. I'm happy to say I did. This was a very well made film with Jones, John Goodman, Ned Beatty, the late James Gammon in one of his last roles, and the beautiful, very talented Mary Steenburgen. Jones was excellent as an older Robicheaux, who's still filled with a mixture of raw emotions ranging from his addiction to alcohol, his anger, his violent temper, and his need to right the wrongs and see that justice pervails. I wish there had been more of Mary Steenburgen in the movie. So, if you're a fan of the "Robicheaux" novels, then I urge you to rent or buy a copy of In the Electric Mist and watch Tommy Lee Jones' take on the character. I don't think you're be disappointed.
