I know this was just a coincidence, but--

Okay, I'm 350 pages through Salem's Lot. Almost finished, and, yes, I'm enjoying it as much this time around as when I first read it. There are large chunks of the novel I didn't remember. I guess that comes from having watched the two different mini-series (the David Soul one and the Rob Lowe one) so many times. More movies are somewhat different from the boo, especially the first one.

Yesterday, however, I was sick. I felt lightheaded, dizzy, weak, and somewhat confused. It felt like flue systems to me. I barely made it through my shift at work and struggled to do the fifteen minute walk to my apartment. Once I was home, I drank some water and then hit the sack at 4:30 in the afternoon. I slept until 5:30 in this morning. Thirteen hours! I felt somewhat better when I got up this morning, though I probably could have slept for another two or three hours. When I was in the employee's cafeteria at lunch time today reading Salem's Lot, I came across a short paragraph that described the systems of the vampire victims in the story as feeling weak, dizzy, and confused. In other words, flue like systems. I went to the restroom afterwards and looked in the mirror to make sure I hadn't been bitten by a vampire the two nights before. Nope, no puncture marks on the neck, but you understand that I had to be sure. It was just too much of a coincidence. I owe it all to Stephen King. Thank you for the brief scare, Maestro!
